Chester & Marcia Zwirn Scholarship

The Chester & Marcia Zwirn Conservation Scholarship supports Yuma County students pursuing education in agriculture, conservation, and natural resources.

 

Eligibility

• Live in Yuma County or parents own property in Yuma County

• Minimum 2.0 GPA

• Enroll in a conservation-related major

 

Scholarship Details

• Up to $5,000 total

• $500 per semester for up to 10 semesters

• Maintain 2.0 GPA and submit transcript each semester

 

Application Requirements

• Completed application

• Transcript, class rank, ACT/SAT

• 500-word essay

• Three letters of reference

Raymond Peters Memorial Conservation Scholarship

Established in 2008 in honor of Raymond Peters, a longtime Yuma County Conservation District Board Supervisor, this scholarship supports students pursuing post-secondary education in agriculture, conservation, natural resources, or related fields.

 

Scholarship Details

• Total Award: Up to $4,000

• Payment Structure: $500 per semester (up to 8 semesters)

• Renewable with continued eligibility

 

Eligibility Requirements

• Reside in the Yuma County Conservation District or have parents/guardians who own property within the District

• Minimum 2.0 high school GPA

• Field of study must relate to agriculture, conservation, or natural resources

 

Recipient Requirements

• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in college

• Submit transcripts at the end of each semester

• Remain in an approved field of study

 

Application Requirements

• Completed application form

• High school transcript (class rank if available)

• ACT or SAT scores (if available)

• Essay (500 words max) on conservation interests and career goals

• Three letters of reference (one school, two community – no relatives)
