SCHOLARSHIPS

Chester & Marcia Zwirn Scholarship

The Chester and Marcia Zwirn Conservation Scholarship was established in 2025 while Chester was serving as a Board of Supervisor member (he began serving in 1997) with the Yuma County Conservation District.  This scholarship was established to assist students attending post-secondary education in areas of study related to conservation, natural resources and/or agriculture major, i.e., agriculture, natural resources, conservation, wildlife, etc.  The student must reside, or parents must own property in Yuma County, Colorado. The Selection Committee will choose scholarship recipients.  

 

The student must have a minimum high school grade point average of 2.0 or higher to be eligible to apply. A maximum of $5,000.00 will be awarded. The amount of the scholarship will be prorated based on the program the student attends. It will be payable in the amount of $500.00 per semester for up to ten semesters.

Raymond Peters Memorial Conservation Scholarship

The Raymond Peters Memorial Conservation Scholarship was established by the Yuma County Conservation District to assist students attend post-secondary education in areas of study related to conservation and/or natural resources i.e., agriculture, agronomy, ecology, precision ag, soils, natural resources, conservation, wildlife or related fields. The student must reside, or parents must own property in the Yuma County Conservation District. The Selection Committee will choose scholarship recipients.

 

Students must have a minimum high school grade point average of 2.0 or higher to be eligible to apply. A maximum of $4,000.00 will be awarded. The amount of the scholarship will be prorated based on the program the student attends. It will be payable in the amount of $500.00 per semester for eight semesters.  Applications are due by 4:00pm on May 2, 2025.
