EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Pesticide Applicator Recertification Scheduled in Wray

The Yuma County Conservation District, in partnership with Mountain West PEST and instructor Sandra McDonald, will host a Pesticide Applicator Workshop on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Lunch will be provided.

The workshop will be held at the City of Wray Community Room – Roundhouse, located at 245 W. 4th Street in Wray, Colorado.

This workshop offers all seven required core credits for Colorado pesticide applicator license recertification, including:

  • Laws and regulations (2 credits)

  • Applicator safety

  • Public safety

  • Environmental protection

  • Pesticide use

  • Pesticide families

Under the Colorado Pesticide Applicators’ Act, individuals may not apply restricted-use or state-restricted-use pesticides without proper certification from the Colorado Department of Agriculture. A Colorado Private Pesticide Applicator License is required for those who apply or supervise the application of restricted-use pesticides on agricultural land they own, lease, rent, or manage through employment.

Important Licensing Notice: Recertification credits may only be applied to unexpired Colorado pesticide licenses. Once a Colorado pesticide applicator license has expired, recertification credits can no longer be used, and the individual must retest to obtain a new license through the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Participants needing Colorado Commercial category credits should contact Sandra McDonald directly at 970-266-9573 or sandra@mountainwestpest.com.

The cost to attend the workshop is $55.00.  Registration is also available by contacting the Yuma County Conservation District at 970-332-3107 ext. 9002 or by email at yccd77@gmail.com.
