Native. Grows 2-4 feet tall with lavender flower spikes at the end of square stalks. A member of the mint family, the leaves and stems are licorice scented especially when crushed. Can be used to flavor food and beverages. Attracts pollinators, butterflies and birds. Flowers June-September, clip spent flowers to avoid reseeding. Full sun to part shade and average soil moisture.
